AstaReal spoke about its CWS25, sports performance recovery solution. It’s a fast dissolving stable powder which contains 2.5% natural astaxanthin plant extract, which when added to water dissolves in 30 seconds. This was developed in AstaReal’s Washington, USA-based facility and the company states that because of the formulations high stability over a wide PH range, the CWS25 is compatible with many drink types such as juices and water. One thing also of note is that the CWS25 can also be used in a capsule form.Other beverage solutions at SupplySide West were from Diana Food who showcased its BetaPulse health to the North American market. This red beet juice is standardised in natural potassium to improve cardiovascular health. When formulating BetaPulse, Diana Food were able to keep the concentration of potassium at 2.4%. The company uses a soft manufacturing process which allows the chance to keep intact other key elements such as natural nitric oxide precursors, betain and polyphenols. Elsewhere, Welch’s Global Ingredients Group showcased its portfolio of concord grape juices and purées. From North America, the Concord grape has a dark purple colour, with a naturally sweet taste.
