NewsSports Results in the 2011 LIME National Basketball League Finals by: – September 15, 2011 Share Share The following is the 2011 Basketball results in the 2011 LIME National Basketball League Division one and Premier Division Finals, which was played at the Massacre Basketball Court last night.The evening’s action began at 7:00 pm with the 2010 Division one defending Champions, Wesley RAPTORS taking on the undefeated Goodwill STARZ in the Kubuli Vita Malt Division One Finals. The defending champions entered the finals with high expectations of regaining the championship. The Starz team were searching for replacements for their two key players, who were serving a two match suspension. The Raptors team quickly seized the oportunity by attacking the Starz on the interior. The Starz team was dealt a further setback when they lost their inspirational captain Daynes Peters, who suffered a dislocated left shoulder, while attempting to block a shot in the early stages of the second quarter.At the end of the first half the Raptors team had opened up a twenty one point lead (44-23). The spirited effort of Jeffery Gregoire who scored five 3 pointers could not slow down the dominance exhibited by the Raptors team. At the end of regulation Raptors defeated Starz by twenty two points (74-52).Leading the way for the Raptors team were Clem Telemaque 20, national team player Steve Oliver Hypolite 15, Devon Baton 14 and Curtis Akiel 11. For the Starz Jeffery Gregoire scored a game high 21, Straun Gregoire 13 and Kanrawn David 10. Raptors lead the best of five series (1-0).Game two featured the 2009 champions, Gatorade Blazers and the NO LOOK team in DOMLEC Premier League 2011 Finals. Before the biggest crowd for the 2011 basketball season thus far, the Blazers team took the early initiative and home support by ending the first half leading the NO Look team by eight points (38-30).Entering the third quarter, the Blazers team had no answer for the 7ft 2 center Garth Joseph, as he lead the NO Look team to draw the score even (52-52) at the end of the third quarter. Driven by the huge crowd, both teams battled for control of the game, but at the end of regulation it was the Blazers team who were victorious, with a winning margin of six points (77-71). Lester Langlais 25, Nathan Jno Jules 14, Thomas Felix 13, Javeed Joseph 12 and Sean Reid 11 lead the Blazers while Garth Joseph scored a game high 36 points, Ken Leslie 14 and Bernard Mills 13 for NO Look in a losing effort.
