first_imgSign up for our COVID-19 newsletter to stay up-to-date on the latest coronavirus news throughout New York A former Suffolk County Community College associate dean has admitted to driving while high on methamphetamine when he caused a crash that killed two men on the Meadowbrook State Parkway two years ago.Robert Beodeker pleaded guilty Monday at Nassau County court to charges of vehicular homicide and driving while ability impaired.Prosecutors said the 52-year-old Aquebogue man was driving along the parkway when his truck struck a vehicle on the side of the roadway on March 4, 2013.Two men who were fixing the vehicle, 76-year-old John Elder of Freeport and 65-year-old Edward Ross of North Bellmore, were pronounced dead at the scene.Judge Christopher Quinn is scheduled to sentence Beodeker on May 18.last_img read more

State Competition in Table Tennis Begins This Weekend in BiH

first_imgThe table-tennis national championship in the senior competition of BiH will be held in the Sarajevo sports center in Skenderija on Saturday and Sunday (2-3 March).There will be 62 competitors in the male division, and 31 in the female division.The favorites to win the title in the male division are Admir Duranspahić, who plays in France, Srđan Miličević and Adnan Šehić, while Emina Hadžiahmetović and Dragana Kerkez are the favorites in the female division.last_img

first_imgVirginia Lee (Reed) Stamm was born October 11, 1946 at Caldwell to Hugh and Betty (Claypole) Reed. Virginia died on Friday, June 7, 2013 at Haysville. She was 66 years old.Virginia enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, camping, flowers and spending time with her family.She was preceded in death by her grandparents, and her parents Hugh and Betty Reed and brother Billy Reed.Her survivors include three daughters; Tammy Longbrake of Goddard, Tina Stamm of Van Buren, Arkansas, Misty Buchanon of Wichita; one son Terry Stamm of Wellington; three brothers; Tom Reed of South Haven, Larry Reed of Anthony, Jim Reed of Arkansas City; two sisters Ruth Mark of Attica, and Mary Lou Mort of Arkansas City; seven grandsons, four granddaughters, and three great-grandsons.A graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at Goodel Cemetery, Drury.To share a memory or leave a condolence please visit www.schaeffermortuary.info Arrangements by Schaeffer Mortuary, 6 N.
