first_img Facebook By admin – April 25, 2018 Open road race begins today Pinterest WhatsApp Twitter Big Bend Open Road RaceBig Bend Open Road Race in West Texas is scheduled for today through Saturday.The event starts off at 8 a.m. today in Sanderson with activities through Thursday for the racers including registration, technical inspection, rookie school, practice runs and qualifying.On Friday, the activities move to Fort Stockton for additional racer functions and a Car Show from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in Rooney Park. The parade will depart from the park at 5:30 p.m. and will proceed north on Mail Street, turning left onto Dickinson Boulevard and continuing to Auto Zone.On Saturday, the annual After Race Party in the Park will be in Rooney Park from 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The racers will end up there after they cross the finish line. There will be music, food, drinks and lots of fun. Everyone is invited to come out and see the cars, take pictures, get autographs, etc. Don’t miss out on this racing event.Volunteers are still needed.For more information call 432-336-2264.
