76, passed away on October 4, 2017. JoAnn was born in Bayonne in 1941 and grew up in Bogota, NJ. In 1964, she answered a calling from Concordia, becoming one of the earliest faculty members of Mayer Lutheran High School in Mayer, MN, where she taught Physical Science and Physical Education. After three years of dedicated teaching at MLHS, she accepted a scholarship to Arizona State University where she received her Master’s degree. Upon returning to New Jersey, JoAnn joined the staff at Smith Middle School in Ramsey. In 1971, JoAnn married James E. Fawcett, becoming a resident of Dumont, NJ. They were licensed auctioneers and formed their own company, J & J Auctioneers. JoAnn was a faithful member of Calvary Episcopal Church in Bayonne. She was a vital part of the various functions held at Calvary and was the driving force behind many outreach projects. JoAnn was pre-deceased by her mother Ruth Hoppe (nee: Bromby), father Henry Hoppe, brother Harry Hoppe and husband James E. Fawcett.
