In response to a question on Tuesday’s blast, Mamata expressed her confidence in the CID’s capability of investigating it. “It is a serious matter, a little child died,” she said at a news conference on Friday evening, three days after some senior leaders of her party issued statements accusing the BJP-RSS camp of having engineered the blast. We expect the CID to look into every aspect and take the accused into custody soon.” The chief minister’s comment followed a meeting of the core committee of Trinamul at the party’s headquarters.
